Thank Goodness for Zentangle!

Tonight was supposed to be a perfect, relaxing evening.  DH and DD are both out and I had 3 hours to myself to paint.  I was excited. I watched some awesome online instructions to get inspired, turned on my favorite painting music, made myself a pot of tea, and settled in to paint.

Things went downhill from there. I don’t know if it subconsciously comparing my amateur talents to the amazingly talented artists or what, but nothing turned out how I wanted it to.  It is so frustrating to not be able to make my hands do what my eyes want them to!

Thank heavens for Zentangle.  You can’t fail Zentangle because it’s not supposed to look like anything! You don’t know how much I needed that tonight!  It is very freeing to let go of expectations and just let the creativity flow.

This isn’t my all-time favorite tile, but that is OK.  It is good enough.

I tangled my anger INTO this one.  What a scary face!

And then I took a photo with my phone turned sideways and guess what I discovered?
