I knew it’s been a long time since I partied with the Paint Party Friday people, but I was shocked when I noticed it’s been over 8 months. That’s long enough to have a baby! I guess you can say I did, in a way, since I have published a book since the last time I posted anything for PPF. It felt so great to have a paintbrush in my hand instead of just pen and pencil.
Here are the first 3 sketches from my travel sketchbook of our Alaska cruise last August.
Happy PPF everyone!
I love Vancouver and you have done a wonderful job sharing it with us.

Was that the five sails….sure looks like it!! I live 35 minutes out of Vancouver B.C.!! Good job!! All the sketches feel like Vancouver…I was a little confused when you called in Port Vancouver though… Looks like your trip was very sketch worthy!! Good job!Hugs Giggles

Thanks. Yes, they are in a journal. It's not intended for watercolor which is why they are a little bumpy.

The five sails? Probably, but I didn't know it was called that. "Port Vancouver" is an inside joke, but that is where our cruise sailed from. Have you ever been to 49th Parallel for donuts? Mmmm.

I've never been there, but I love the feel of it through your sketches. Thank you for that. It is difficult to get that certain feeling of a place. Blessings, Janet PPF
