Hi! Last time I posted was a quick Diva Challenge from San Diego 2 MONTHS ago! I can’t believe it has been that long. If you follow me on Facebook, you know I’ve been to 2 Zentangle events since my last update: Tangle Island on Vancouver Island, BC, Canada and Zentangle Expo in Madison, WI, and also 2 countries and 6 states. What a great summer it has been!
Rather than writing a novel here and trying to “catch up,” I’ll just do a Diva Challenge and ease my way back slowly into the groove. This week La Diva challenged us to start with a circle string.
After Alexa’s graduation party on Saturday, I am tired, so I just wanted to color!
At this point, I like it a lot, but I thought it could use a bit more. So, I aura’d the outside. (And forgot to take a picture.)
Finished by filling the empty space with mooka and black in the style of new CZT Kae Yoshino.
What an absolutely stunning ensemble piece! I like the way you met this challenge and your linework is amazing. But what really struck me was the amazing colored pencil work, I don’t think I have ever seen such beautiful shine worked into a piece! Guess I know what I need to aspire to now. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful artwork!
Welcome home Cris! Great to see you online again! Love seeing how your process worked on this tile and looking forward to seeing more often.

Thanks! Once Alexa goes off to college in a few days, I plan on spending more time on my art. Wish me luck with that!

Wow Cris – I would have stopped at various times along the way and you kept going. Each step you showed got greater and greater! Love the tile.

I often have trouble deciding when to stop. The more I like a piece, the harder it is to continue. Sometimes I just have to push past the fear.

I love how you’ve illustrated all your steps and honestly it was a work of art at each step of the way.
