Backstory…
My mother instilled in me a great love for all things creative. I was a serious quilter for about ten years, then I had a baby and switched gears, moving on to scrapbooking. When we decided to homeschool that no-longer baby, I had less and less time to make art. Luckily, I discovered Zentangle in the fall of 2010, and the rest, as they say, is history. I discovered that I love sharing Zentangle with others. I believe that everyone is an artist, and I especially love teaching people who say they have no talent and proving to them that they do!
In January 2013, I published my first book, “Made in the Shade: a Zentangle Workbook” to help my students and others learn and practice shading. In late 2013, I published a smaller book called “Seeing Stars: a Zentangle Constellation” which is more inspiration than instruction. For every book sold, I donate to The Red Thread Promise to help feed a hungry child in Haiti. I wrote my third book, “Pattern Play: a Zentangle Creativity Booster” with my friend and talented designer, Sonya Yencer. Both Made in the Shade and Pattern Play are being translated and published globally.
In January 2014, I led my first spiritual retreat using Zentangle as a tool to draw closer to God. It is amazing to me how the Zentangle Method can be used to not only become more peaceful, but to discover parts of oneself that have been hidden.
If you have any questions about me, my art, my books, or learning Zentangle, please ask. I’d love to hear from you.
